Micha Molthoff is a remarkable violinist who has captivated Dutch audiences with two compelling music-theater programs in recent years. In his first program, ‘A Fiddler on his Route’, Micha takes the audience on a mesmerizing journey through the history of his violin, the ‘San Filippo’, crafted in 1993 from wood sourced from the renowned Italian Uffizi Museum. This violin, modeled after the Guarneri played by the world-famous Itzhak Perlman, becomes a central theme in the program, creating an immersive experience.
In his second program, ‘Fifty Shades to Fiddle’, Micha explores the theme of love, delving into the complexity and depth of human emotions. Music serves as the perfect medium to convey these nuances, with the violin and Micha’s virtuosity playing a pivotal role.
Micha’s musical journey began in a musically inclined family, with his parents meeting in a youth orchestra, laying the foundation for his love of music. He experimented with various instruments, including the guitar and piano, but the violin always held a special place in his heart.
